Marmorino Finitura

Marmorino Naturale by OIKOS is a decorative, vapor permeable, colored lime putty finish for interiors and exteriors. In the Middle Ages architecture was essentially based on stones & bricks, while lime was used as plasters. Roman architects in the 16th Century created a trend for the use of lime putty products. During the Baroque period lime putty, called Marmorino, was the most suitable material for complex architectural structures. All over Europe this envious technique has been a part of the national architectural heritage and is called the “Marmorino Effect”. This product allows beautiful decorative effects. The thickness of this paint camouflages minor imperfections of the wall at once. Marmorino Naturale can either be matt or glossy with the application of finishing products as required from Oikos.   Finitura Autolucidante (Pure Lime Finish) by OIKOS is the finishing product to be applied on Marmorino Naturale to obtain a glossy “marble” like effect. The product is based on mature lime putty and bonds perfectly with Marmorino Naturale creating a compact layer on the surface that maintains high permeability to water vapor. The surface can also be made water resistant by applying coats of protective waxes available as a part of this range. Exterior application must allow for such waxing of the surface and thus must be guarded from rain for a minimum of 48 hours.
