Veldecor

Veldecor by OIKOS is a translucent, semi-covering finish conceived to achieve fascinating decorative veils, reproducing the effect of ancient plaster facades. It evokes artistic yet organic expressions on exterior and interior walls rendering them in the most distinctive ways. Veldecor is a high-quality product based on siloxanic resins, conceived to create, through a simple application cycle using brush, glove or sponge, semi-transparent chromatic effects comparable to traditional craftsmanship. Siloxanic paint is a modern invention of the 1980’s. A special type of silicon resin called “Siloxanic” is used as a binder for the solid components of the paint. Siloxanic resin is a co-polymer of the monomer silicon or silicon oxide (SiO2) and organic molecules derived from carbon chemistry. The diameter of this polymer is smaller than that of water molecules thereby obstructing the path of water absorption. Coupled with supplementary Oikos products it powers greater water repellency leaving the vapor transpiration feature intact thereby preventing the growth of mold, algae and other micro-organisms. Veldecor is the primary choice for complex applications on high prestige facades as well for simpler applications for enhanced visual effects. It is available in a large number of colors and thanks to its advanced formulation gives extreme protection towards UV rays, water vapor and sulphurous pollutants preserving its properties of resistance to abrasion, sanitization and aesthetics.
